It was mid-winter and we were feeling the blues so we got all our friends together to work on a clandestine operation.
Although most of the neighbors thought we were just a bunch of homeschoolers studying science together, we were really fine tuning our spy skills for our secret operation;-)
We called it Spy Camp, but only when talking to those "in the company". We learned about spy gadgets, spy lingo, spies in history, and some essential skills that a spy must have.
The kids went through an obstacle course of lazer beams and searched the house for clues left behind by a "mole". We even used a lie detector to see if one of our campers was a mole. We couldn't find a mole in the group.
We learned how to disquise messages in code, invisible ink, or small writing. We had so much fun, and there was even more we could have done if we had time. We learned how to find clues in trash and where spies might hide things at.
We had a total of 36 homeschoolers over 3 days.
Each spy recieved a certificate of training making them eligible for employment with the NSA (No Such Agency). Each spy went home with a new pair of spy glasses that allowed them to "check their six" (see behind them).
It was a great time and we hope to do it again in the future, and do it even better.

I too homeschool and each summer we did a " Gumshoe " Camp...so I so love this post and that you all did this...good for you...
( and now when he is older they have all the cool CSI shows on....sigh....oh well...it was a blast....and he still knows how to solve cases...)
